How do I use Student Hints?

Student Hints are hints that can be provided to students in Multiple Choice or Free Response questions

Multiple Choice Hints

The option to view a Hint appears when a student submits an incorrect answer. 

• • The appearance of a Hint icon will also indicate to the student that the answer they submitted was incorrect.

The option to view a Correct Answer Message appears when students select a correct answer. 

• • The appearance of a Correct Answer message icon will also indicate to a student that the answer they submitted was correct.

Curriculum authors may have already provided hints and correct answer messages for content you are using. To customize or add your own hints and correct answer messages in the card settings of a Multiple Choice card. You can access the card settings by opening the card in Slide View.

1. Open Slide View

2. Open Card Settings and add or edit hints.

Free Response Hints

The option to open a free response hint will appear to students as soon as students start their response. 

• NOTE: This means students can view the hint before they finish their free response section. Hints should be used accordingly. 

Free response hints can be added in the card settings of a free response card.
