We ask to know your location so that you can visualize data from your PocketLab sensor on a map. For help enabling or disabling location permissions, read below.
PocketLab Notebook in Google Chrome
The first time you connect to a sensor, Chrome will ask if you want to allow location permissions. If you say yes, Notebook will attach your current latitude and longitude to your recorded data. You can view this location data by downloading a CSV file. After the first time you connect, you can change your location permissions at any time by clicking the waypoint icon in the address bar.
iOS PocketLab App
You can change your location permission settings in Settings > PocketLab > Location.
Note: If you set your permission to "While Using the App" your location data may not be saved if you navigate to a different app or turn your phone screen off. We recommend setting location permissions to "Always" for the duration of your data recording and then changing the permission after recording if you prefer.
Your location data is only used to attach latitude and longitude to a CSV file of your data.
Android Notebook App
You can change your location permissions by touching and holding the Notebook App icon > App info > Permissions > Location
Note: If you set your permission to "Only while using the app" your location data may not be saved if you navigate to a different app or turn your phone screen off. We recommend setting location permissions to "All the time" for the duration of your data recording and then changing the permission after recording if you prefer.
Your location data is only used to attach latitude and longitude to a CSV file of your data.
