Getting Started with PocketLab Odyssey

Learn the basics of your new PocketLab Odyssey sensor

Unboxing PocketLab Odyssey

Getting Connected

  1. In a Chrome or Edge browser, navigate to app.thepocketlab.com/trials
  2. Click "Connect a PocketLab"  - a connection window should appear.
  3. Turn your PocketLab on by pressing the button on top. The name of your PocketLab should appear in the connection window.
  4. Click on the name of your PocketLab and then click "Pair".
  5. After a few seconds, you will see data streaming directly to the graph.

Note: You do not need to connect to the PocketLab directly in your device's Bluetooth settings. You should only connect using PocketLab Notebook in the Google Chrome browser.

Changing Graph Settings and Recording Data

Changing Graphs

  • Click the "Graph" button to select one or more measurements to display.
  • Four measurements can be displayed as graphs at a time. Additional measurements will be added as small cards with the current reading below the graphs.
  • Click a card to display its graph.

Recording Trials

  • Click "Record" to start recording data.
  • Click "Stop" when finished recording.
  • Review your data and click "Save" to save the trial to your Notebook Lesson, or click "clear" to permanently delete this recording you don't need it.
  • The trial will save below the Collect Data card.
  • You can change the title, add notes, or click "export data" to save the file to .csv to share the data or use it in other programs.

Selecting Units

  • Click the icon of three sliders next to the measurement title to open the graph menu.
  • Units options are displayed at the bottom of this menu.

Note: The pH probe should always be stored in buffer solution to extend its life. Both the pH probe and conductivity probe should be rinsed with distilled water after use.
