Summary of new features and other updates to PocketLab Notebook from July 2024.
Our Notebook team worked hard over the last several weeks to deliver new features, fix some bugs, and improve Notebook’s efficiency
New Features
- Download Student Scores: From the assignment page, teachers can now download .csv file with student assignment mastery scores. Other metrics like total points, completion percent, time turned in, etc. will be added to this file in a follow-up release. Learn more here.
- Custom Names for Lesson Versions: Teachers can now add a custom name to their edited versions of lessons in their curriculums or from the PocketLab Library. Learn more here.
- Student Hints: Curriculum authors and teachers can now add student hints to free response questions. Hints for Multiple Choice also changed from a text box in the card to a hint icon that opens the hint as a dialog.
- Lesson Menu: The Edit Versions menu and the Lesson Settings menu were combined into one menu to enable new features like renaming lesson versions and to bring all the options for a lesson into one place. Teachers can switch between versions, share their version, print, delete, or copy versions all from the same menu. Learn more here.
- Drag & Drop and Line Matching Cards: Two new card types that were previously only available for curriculum authors are now available for all teacher users. Drag & Drop and Line Matching cards can now be added from the Add a Card dialog in any lesson.
- Print a Lesson: Teachers can now print a lesson from the lesson drop down menu. Learn more here.
Enhancements
- Behind the scenes work: Migrated some AWS tools to a newer version, made some adjustments to Notebook’s content licensing system, updated some platform libraries integral to Notebook.
Bug Fixes
- Curriculum Filters: Fixed an issue where the See All button in the row of curriculum was not working if a filter had been selected earlier.
- Titles of Lesson Versions: Resolved an issue where editing the title of a new version of a lesson caused the lesson to freeze.
- Login Page Scroll: Corrected a problem with the login page where a user could not scroll down if the browser was especially short
